Change? Remember you're a warrior! (l , ll or lll)

Updated: Mar 13, 2021

Warrior. 'Remind yourself of what you've been able to overcome. All the times you felt like you weren't going to make it through, you proved yourself wrong. You're more powerful than you think.' ~ Ash Aves

We've all certainly had to change and adapt our lives during this last year and overcome challenges. There will no doubt be further changes to come in the next few months as we slowly come out of lockdown (this time, hopefully for the better!).

Like many during lockdown 3, I have been on furlough over the last three months. Thankfully, I will return to work from next week. To be honest, I find this both daunting and exciting.

This means change once again.

Yoga has been my comfort, the more heightened COVID became, the more I turned towards this world of concentration, movement and breathing . It has helped to give me positive energy and an outlet for expressing my emotions.

Truth is, I've lived in a yoga bubble at home for the last three months! With no routine to my days (eek!) I've been practicing whenever the mood takes me!

Although there will be a period of transition once again, I like many, will welcome structure back into my life.

Wherever you are in your practice, don't let any change that comes along discourage you from making time to get onto your mat.

It can be really difficult, but try to prioritise and plan that precious 'you time' into your new daily or weekly routine. Self-care is productive and necessary.

It may take a bit of 'trial and error' to integrate exercise into a new routine, that's ok! Accepting this is the main thing, just don't give up and it will find a place in your life organically.

For myself, it means practicing at 5am. This worked for me before lockdown, so I know I can do it, but presently, I'm not relishing the idea! Just remembering how great I would feel, starting my day in such a positive way, will motivate me to set my alarm.

Always find what works for you. It's your yoga, your time. Of course yoga is always there for you. Anytime.

You are a warrior! (l, ll, or lll)

Change, can be bumpy and no matter how you get through it, you show resilience, inner strength, adaptability, a positive outlook, determination and an acceptance for the situation which allows you to react in a positive way. That definitely makes you a warrior!

Be kind and go with the flow
